Self study for app development?

0 Rylies Garfield · September 28, 2015
I am a sophomore and is interested in android app development. I have been doing web page development for the last 2 years and found interest in app development recently. I recently came across a mobile app course from Cestar college, Toronto. Is it really a good idea to join the course or self study would be a better choice. Open to ideas and suggestions.

Here are some questions I would ask myself.
1. How much time do I have?
2. Can I afford the course?
3. Does it come with a Certificate?

Personally I would start here with Bucky. It doesn't cost anything and he presents the ideas in small applications that are easy to follow.
P.S. Java is based on data types and JavaScript is not, so most of what you know from web development and JavaScript will be helpful.    All Android material I have seen expects you to know Java.
