So my friend wants to create a game, but an android one to be specific, he thinks that Unity needs experience and I am telling him that he can begin learning Android development or Java or just begin with unity for beginners
Any opinions ?

well if you want to program something it's very useful to know something about codes.
I think you can make something in unity with a minimum of programming skills.
But if he thinks in the future let's make a program in or something else all his knowledge will be useless.
Unity works with a special java framework what in general means that the language has bin made easier.
I'd recommend to learn the basic's of java or javascript (the difference is that you can literally make everything with java, like progams or sites or app's also games. and java script is just to make a site more interactive ).
But it works both for learning the basics of programming.
ten if you know what a:
- if statement is
- variables are
- know how to use a loop
- know what objects are and be able to use em
- how to write and use a function

then he could watch tutorial for unity game development.
i think if he put's his self like 4/5 day's in java he'll be able to start the unity tutorial's. :)
