The good people at Google have decided that Chrome will no longer support apps created using NPAPI. This includes apps developed using Unity 3d, Java and Silverlight.
There is a temporary work around until Chrome version 45 is released later this year (2015). Here's a link to Google's reasoning/explanation and the temporary work around.
End of time for Unity, Java and Silverlight?

So this is only temporary?
& Java has stopped working with chrome for me all-together since like last summer.

@Kuroodo Did you update Java on your Chrome browser?

That's the thing. It won't update or download via chrome (I have to use a different browser), and it won't even run on chrome at all.
