You are receiving this error because your graphics card is not compatible i believe update your graphics card driver and try again. If it still does not work, your graphics card isn't compatible with acceslerated graphics. You will have to use the "Store a snapshot for faster startup" option.

I Have Had to Delete all current AVDs and start new for this to work. In picture above uncheck the "Use host GPU" option and everything should be fine. Has never worked on a existing AVD for me, Only by creating a new AVD.

You have to install  HAXM.

1.)  Go to C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Android\sdk
2.) Open SDK Manage
3.) Scroll down. You get Extras
4.) Now install Intel x86 Emulator Accelerator

If it is not installed, you cannot run your apps.

Hi Eyad mufti,

I have the same errors as you guys.

I'm running 64 bit Android Studio 1.3 RC4 on 64 bit Windows 7.

I found a video at https://software.intel.com/en-us/videos/setting-up-intel-haxm-on-windows, and followed it to resolve my problem.

Basically,
1. Turn on the Virtualization Technology option in your BIOS.
2. Run SDK Manager.exe (C:\Users\Sherab\AppData\Local\Android\sdk) to install Intel x86 emulator Accelerator.
This process only installs the accelerator haven't started yet.
3. Run AVD Manager.exe (C:\Users\Sherab\AppData\Local\Android\sdk) to select your desired emulator or create one if you want to, and click on Start.

After the emulator has started, run Android Studio with Helloworld app (or whatever app you are working on). Then it would run without errors anymore.

Have fun and good luck!
