I'm sorry to hear that your countrymen hate the U.S. with such disdain. I truly think that with a little more education; they would come to understand what America actually means / represents.

Earlier this morning, I read a letter from an Australian living in America. He was very articulate, very eloquent. He described how an American doctor saved his life as a child when no other doctors could diagnose his condition, much less, save his life.

He also mentioned something that struck a chord with me. I will have to paraphrase: Equal opportunity does not equate equal outcome. Everyone is given a chance. If you're willing to work hard; you can prosper.

I am from Israel
Everyone here knows that America is awesome but also likes to make fun of the American stereotype of "fat and stupid" even though no one actually thinks that way or means to insult anyone
Anyway I moved to America from Israel and all my Israeli friends are excited to know someone that lives in America.
And there is also the fact that America gives Israel 5 billion dollars a year for economic and military reasons.

"I'm an American. I don''t go hide in the corner and ask Mommy and Daddy and Mr. Putin to bail me out.

The reason you don't like America is because we have balls, we have money and your socialist government is a failure.

Guess you're waving the "white flag" of surrender?

I should expect no less."

Point 2 of my original post was Americans suffer from superiority complex, you're proving my point on stereotypes.

If I don't respond immediately, I am not surrendering, I just don't regularly check this site or my e-mail.

To state, I don't believe that England is better than America, nor do I believe America is greater than England, we each have our pros and cons. What I will say is that Americans have a great amount of pride over their country, that is something I wish more of the English had.

I think there is no point in comparing "what has your country contributed".

That whole feeling of patriotism makes no sense to me.

Only because some guy that lives in your country has invented something cool, doesn't in any ways mean "your country achieved something". If that guy who invented this and that lived in another place you wouldn't care. But only because he is also living in the same country doesn't make you as individual better or smarter or more important.

Saying we are good because my land did this and that is crap.

Where you were born and where you live should not be of any importance.

It  is about how you behave and what you do with your live.

And please never mention WW1 and WW2, the Americans act like some heroes that saved us. The reality is that they were hardly involved until 1917 when the Germans sank the Louisitania and 1942 when Japan attacked Pearl Harbour. Unlike the Brits who were involved from the start because we seen the threat of the Germans and went to out fellow nations aid.
