Problem with Android Studio on Mac

0 Marija Dubrovska-Hassan · May 14, 2015
Hello,

I downloaded Android Studio on Macbook Air and iMac.
When I tried it first time, everything was slow but fine, but when I wanted to do second project, it started showing me Rendering problem: -android.support.v7.internal.widget.ActionBarOverLayout... could not be installed (on both devices).

What should I do?

Hi there!

My solution was to change the "AppTheme" ................. the one that I circled in Red in the following picture.

Instruction:

1. Click on the icon called "AppTheme".
2.Choose Material Light
3. Click OK.
4. You should be fine now.

I hope this help!!!!

Here can be another alternative solution.

 Got rid of it by changing the code in    res/values/styles.xml

 to

<!-- Base application theme. -->
<style name="AppTheme" parent="Base.Theme.AppCompat.Light.DarkActionBar">
   <!-- Customize your theme here. -->
</style>
