I haven't been here in ages, been some major changes since I've last been here, but it looks pretty awesome now.
Anyway, I recently started making a tutorial on setting up a virtual cluster using Scientific Linux and oracle virtual box. Although the setup is on a few virtual machines, the setup works on actual computers as well. With this tutorial you will be able to set up a working cluster.
Clusters can be used for anything from bitcoin mining, to weather prediction, to 3d rendering.
