@Brainslav,

I mean no offense, but really, i don't think anyone really cares about how they are categorized, Icategorized them based to the main programming language required to do these fields.

M'kay... Sorry, maybe my post looks a bit harsh. :)

It all depends on what you want to do.

Web Development
App Development
Software Development
OS Development
etc...

Web development, app development, OS development are generally software development.
Keep your facts straight!
Two kind of software: Application and system software

Application software:
- Web applications and web services
- Mobile applications
- Desktop applications
etc.

System software:
- Software necessary for functioning of systems itself designed not to solve tasks of user directly rather designed to prepare terrain for application software

I went a bit off topic.

Now, why did I mentioned that OP should learn JVM programming languages (let's just be clear and say: Java) if he comes from Indochina? Reason is basically in IT culture of specific country. Spectrum of Java jobs is way wider in Indochina then in i.e. Eastern Europe (where he should commit his time more to C++, C# or PHP).

If you are not sure, or want to all of them, just take Java!:)

Clojure is adorable! Too bad that head of average programmer that comes from C family of prog. langs. can go "puff" in attempt to learn it.

Forgive me if I made a mistake, but you seem like someone coming from Indo-China. Therefore, any programming language that runs on JVM.

Then he should learn Clojure! :D
