What is the best lightweight IDE for PHP development?

I am starting a new project in PHP. And need a good IDE with basic functionality like code highlighter, project management etc. I have already worked with Notepad++ and Dreamweaver. Please suggest me something else. Which should be completely free.

You better use PHP DESIGNER 8, Its really an awesome, light-weight and provides code highlighting and a lot of other features as well..

I used PHP Designer 8 for a very long time. It's nice but not lightweight. I suggest using a text editor.

PHP Designer 8 is also not free. Guys just switch to text editors which are better than lightweight than IDEs. Best of all, some of the text editors are free.

@Nahiyan I too would like to use a simple text editor with some of basic functions like code highlighting and auto complete etc. using ATOM for 1-2 days seems good...

Thanks everyone for your valuable suggestions.

depends on your liking, I personally like the online editor, that x10 hosting provides. You can do live coding with a free domain.

I suggest you to use a basic text editor instead of an IDE.
Brackets and Sublime Text are really nice text editors and best of all, they're both free.
