Which Processor is good for the emmulator?

+1 Vincent Boromeo · January 11, 2015
Hey guys, I currently have an intel core i3 processor in my asus touch screen laptop. The emulator works, but its extremely slow. I was wondering if I had a core i7 if that would make it run a lot faster. I have a core i7 in my desktop, but was thinking about getting an i7 for my laptop. Would that be good?

:) Thanks for reading my post :)

Before answering the question I will ask - are you sure you can replace the the processor in your laptop? I ask this as I know with many laptops it is not so easy and sometimes not even possible.

Now would upgrading from an i3 to an i7 increase the speed of the emulator?
Yes but only slightly - I would not recommend upgrading to an i7 in the hopes of the emulator speeding up. I have used the emulator on many devices and it is very slow in general. However, there are things you can do about to speed it up - http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1554099/why-is-the-android-emulator-so-slow-how-we-can-speed-up-the-android-emulator
