Yeah.. not quite what I was going for. I've tried to adjust the emulator resolution, and it seems that however wide the screen is, the last column of buttons horizontally expands to the edge of the screen. This leads me to believe the error is in my code. I have posted the activity_main code here (http://pastebin.com/9S5d6FBN). I

Selfreply for anyone finding themselves in similar peril:
Apparently the grid-layout doesn't scale well with a different screen than the one it is designed on (which was a Nexus 4 for me). I guess I overestimated the worth of dip (density independent pixels). They are not so independent after all, it seems. If anyone has tips for building apps that look good, and work well, on various different screen sizes, please do reply
