Algorithm for Integration

Hey guys, 

I know this may seem complicated but I am trying to develop an algorithm to integrate functions (without using outside libraries). What I mean by this is mathematically integrate something like x^2 to 2x. I am wondering how this would be possible for an infinitely long function. Do I use an array list? I need some help to get started. Please give suggestions as to how to do this.

integrate:
ax^(n+1)/(n+1) + c where n != 0
if you want an integrating expression, just use delta x

differentiate:
nax^(n-1)

not hard.

The Integration of x^2 is x^3/3 you just differentiated......
