can't get started with android app

I've downloaded Java and created the JAVA_HOME variable but when I try to launch Android Studio it keeps telling me that there's no JVM installation and I know I've installed the 64-bit JDK.  I'm very new to all this and I'm sure I've done everything correctly.  Any ideas someone, please?

Are you running it as administrator?

Apologies for the delay in coming back to you - time difference from here in England!  Yes, I've tried to run Android Studio as administrator,  but it just throws up a message box along the lines I wrote at the top.
