I tried Laravel, a PHP framework. I personally think it's one of the best frameworks out there. It's easy to learn and stable. I've tried out CakePHP and some other frameworks but I prefer Laravel over them.

If you haven't used Laravel yet, I suggest that you should go and check it out. It's based on Symfony's components, MVC concept and uses a great dependency management tool called composer. Making a simple application which will read, write and edit database records requires just few lines of code with no hassle. Moreover, it's fun!

laravel is seriously very good, it's a must learn now, if you know PHP and have an extra day, you are done... It will really help you

BTW, there are couple of nice and user friendly books out there for learning Laravel along with tons of tutorials. Code Bright is one of my favourite text books about Laravel.
