Almost everyone keeps in the middle and pretending that keep both sides :)
But I am 100% sure that everyone grew up with Microsoft and unfortunately, because Microsoft for some reason underestimated
Mobile Technology and thought that mobile tech will not grow that fast and didn't invest that much in mobile tech.
But Microsoft is Microsoft and I am pretty sure that they are restructuring and developing new "weapon" which will surprise lot of people.
So,I am not ashamed to say that I prefer Windows OS in all Devices but they should have FREE version of OS in order everyone has chance to have that or afford that with a good price.

I think the reason most people (at least the people that know the operating system past the GUI) harbor resentment for Microsoft, is because of their need to constantly do things differently than the rest of the industry.  Take for instance the ^M that is placed on the end of lines when coding on a MS machine, or the need to interpret CSS in IE differently than every other browser.

Lets not forget the ruthlessness of their licensing.   I applaud many of their efforts.   .NET is a great framework, and I am glad they finally made it opensource.  I also think many of their applications are very good.  Visual Studio makes coding almost child's play.

Always Microsoft.

I am utterly disgusted at these choices. Microsoft for laptops and desktops, Samsung for all my mobile needs(Android is the beast). And any other thing is Linux. I refuse to even touch an "apple" without gloves. :|)

Who said I thought Samsung was Android? what if I meant  I like Samsung because of Android? An like Android because I like Linux? Please stop making assumptions.

Each OS has it's pro's and con's.  If you are working in a *nix environment, go with the Mac or some variant of Linux, (I run ubuntu, mostly because it's what everyone else was using when I started.)   If you are working in a Microsoft Environment, go with Windows.

I let the servers I work with decide my OS. Makes for better integration.

Phones: Hands down google/Android. Best series is the google Nexus series.

Laptop: Microsoft/Linux dual-boot. M$'s new Surface LTs are pretty cool. Apple has always used underperformance overpriced laptops. I can't stand them. BTW, you can install Windows, Linux, or even Apple on any laptop anyway.

PC: Linux/Microsoft dual-boot of course.

In terms of software and OSes, the reason I like Microsoft so much is that you can do so much in the operating system. You can play games, edit s***, program, whatever. But the stock command line in Windows is pretty damn crappy, so when I'm just using a computer for downloading, browsing the internet, or programming, I use linux. There's tons of versions of linux, and most of them are awesome, plus it's opensource mostly and free. M$ and linux cover it all, so Apple has nothing to offer me.

**The one thing I respect about Apple though is that their filesystem is Unix-based and they use the bash shell. That's pretty cool.

Apple fanboys not allowed.
