Unique text displayed from unique URLs

Hello all,

Server side scripting is not my strong suit. I normally focus on front end development.

I am working on a project right now that when the user enters a unique url such the text entered in the url will pull from the MySQL db and display custom text on a header.

For example, http://www.example.com/index.php?id=ctext

I have a MySQL table set up with the ids and Custom Text it should display when a unique url is entered, but I have no clue how to pull the data and have it display.

Any help is appreciated on this subject.

Thank you!

Thank you wheatly! I will have to remember this when PHP/MySQL is an option.

I've used JavaScript to grab the URL, take out the + signs in it, and display it as text over my banner.

I've learned that I cannot use PHP/MySQL and have to use JavaScript to store the variable, so essentially this thread is resolved.

I've created a new thread in the appropriate forum: https://buckysroom.org/forum/topic.php?id=1291
