I watched the video.
Very interesting... I did not know anyone besides Bucky i.e Travis, did android videos for the New Boston.

The point of the tutorial was to demonstrate how  to use the ListView widget, right?

The tutorial did not create and Menu Activity, so unless it was created in a previous video, it can't invoke it.
So  your statement would be right.

P.S.
Bucky covered intents in videos 35 and 36 and Simple lists in 45 and 46, of the "Beginners" videos.
I know they work.
