compiler too picky about spacing in .jade file?

Here is my code:

extends layout

block content
h1= title
p Welcome to our test

// Wrapper
#wrapper

// User List
h2 User List
# user list
table
thead
th UserName
th Email
th Delete?
tbody
// /User List

// /Wrapper

Here is the error that I am receiving:

C:\nodetest2\views\index.jade:13 11| h2 User List 12| # user list > 13| table 14| thead 15| th UserName 16| th Email unexpected token "indent"

Error: C:\nodetest2\views\index.jade:13
11| h2 User List
12| # user list
> 13| table
14| thead
15| th UserName
16| th Email

I have never heard of, or seen a compiler so picky about using spaces or indents.  It only wants you to stick with one or the other, not both.  And I'm not sure why here, when I remove one indent before "table", it complied just fine.  Can someone please explain this to me?

Hi Luke,
    That is a good question! I do not know the answer.
Sorry,
