error during installation of jdk

Hey guys. I am having problem during installation of java jdk-8u66. It displays error message saying "error 1335: the cabinet file 'st' is corrupt and cannot be used. This could indicate a network error, an error reading from the CD-ROM, or a problem with this package." How can I get over this?

Did you download from Oracle?
Did you pick the right operating system?
Do you have a JAVA_HOME environment variable, and is pointing to where you installed the jdk?

Ya I downloaded it from oracle.I am using windows 8.1 pro.I do not know whether it is a right operating system or not. Furthermore, let me make you clear that my installation failed showing above mentioned error.So this jdk is not installed in my system.Hence setting up environmental variable may not hamper
