Q: Why did the functions stop calling each other? A: Because they had constant arguments.

I would recommend 7 because they based it off XP. And well, then there's vista...

Newnumide wrote: may be i need more RAM? More RAM is always the answer! 4.5GB of memory should be more than enough to run Windows 7, background processes and any game. There could be a couple of possible causes for decrease in performance. Firstly, check the game's configuration. Turn off/down any settings that aren't necessary. If no improvement is noted there is likely a bottle-neck in your system. If you've changed any hardware recently you may have introduced the bottle-neck then. How you resolve that would be totally at your discretion. They are only two possibilities, it could be something more sophisticated.

Everything runs better for me with Win7. I have 6 gigs of RAM though.

4.5GB ram is bad, because its neither dual channel nor tripple channel then 4GB dual channel works faster than your 4.5GB if you have a mainboard for dual channel, make sure you put an equal amount of ram in the slots that are linked (most likely they have the same color) so the stuff you can put in there is: 2x1GB = 2GB, 2x2GB=4GB, 2x4GB=8GB, 2x8GB=16GB etc etc.. to make it run in dual channel mode
tripple channel is mostly on mainboards for intel core i5/i7 3x1GB = 3GB, 3x2GB=6GB, 3x4GB=12GB, 3x8GB=24GB etc etc.. to make it run in tripple channel mode

I've been using XP forever and have no plans on changing. It's simply a matter of taste, no OS is better then any other.
