So I have some video I recorded from a Sony Handycam DCR-HC36 and am capturing it onto my computer through FireWire to Adobe Premiere CS5. When I have the captured video saved and played, there are white lines. I'm guessing this is an interlacing issue, I'll post screenshots in a minute. How would I fix this problem? It's not an HD Camera and I believe the resolution is 640x480.

Here's the picture. As you can see there are white lines. When the video is playing the white lines can clearly be seen.

I'm looking into it. I am not really sure why this would happen yet.

Yea this sounds like an interlacing problem.
Those white lines are called "artifacts"

Because modern computer video displays are progressive scan systems, interlaced video will have visible artifacts when it is displayed on computer systems. See if you edit this and play it on a tv if it still does that. Also you can try to see if your handycam will record in progressive scan mode.

Also it could be a problem with playback speed. When it is played back at a slower speed than it was captured at the artifacts sometimes show up.
